So I’m back in the best city in the world…..yes, Chicago! Had a quite an adventure from the Adirondacks to Chicago. I’m glad to be back to my normal grounds. Today I was at my 2nd home, MEXIQUE! I know for a fact that no matter what kitchen I work at, Mexique will always be my home. Being back there rocking the line is great! For the meantime I will be hanging there working service, until I hear about the results for the BasqueStage. Results are in November 7th, until then I Will make my next move. Hopefully all plays in favor. So for now I will be hanging out with some great friends at Mexique, Frank and Carlos. Glad to be home….
I’ve been away for a couple days from the blog. Been finishing up the end of the season. These six months went by quick. Met Awesome people from literally all over the world! Awesome people who I wish to encounter again. Visited a bunch of awesome places. But now soon I will be back in my lovely Chicago!
I’ve been away for some days due to work and some applications for my next adventure. I want to thank Maddy and Charlie for helping me out with the filming of the Basque stage video and of course for having me over for dinner.
I felt like a normal person today actually eating in a table instead of standing up like always in the kitchen. I had simple, rustic, good food. Lovely end of the season corn, some grilled rustic shrimp along with grilled vegetables. The winner though was the amazing strawberries and biscuits maddy’s mother made. They were honestly outrageously awesome. Reminded me of my mothers cooking, which soon enough I will have again!
The days now in the Adirondacks have gone by quicker day by day which is great, meaning we will all be home soon.
Been keeping myself busy with this Basque stage application. Just having fun with the whole cooking part, and writing, along with that whole butterflies in the stomach type of deal just imagining to win it.
All will work out for the best and I will continue shooting for greatness everyday. The weather has been incredibly awesome. 12 more days baby! And we leave the woods! Ahahaha!
Celebration is a key word that I notice is used only on special occasions. I believe one must celebrate day by day due to the reason of just being able to be free to fulfill whatever it is you want to accomplish day per day.
Its pretty late here knowing I will have to wake up early for work and work a double but its alright. Have to sacrifice when fun is necessary correct!?
Today was quite a heck of a day! Lesson today at work is that being greedy will get you nowhere. Justice has been settled….aside from drama at work, time is going by really fast meaning i should be home soon. I need to start thinking of a recipe to do….idea is based on influence….the influence, my mother.
Hello world! greetings from the middle of nowhere NY! I had began a blog back in May, and continued it for about a month……due to lots of work and keeping busy, I decided to delete it. Now I am back and I plan to keep this one. It feels great to type down my thoughts after a long day in the kitchen. As many of you know I’ve been away from my beautiful Chicago. I’m excited to be back soon and be reunited with my friends and family.
The season here in Upstate NY has gone by really quick. I had a really good time working here. Chef Chris is great, and allowed me to be free and express myself on some of the dishes. The passion and drive that I showed him all season has gained me a new level of trust I search for in every kitchen. 17 more days baby!
